24th May 2005
This weekend was eventful.
Sarah did creative memory type stuff on Friday night up at church, and won a doorprize! She got some of those little tipped markers and pens to write with, very exciting.
On Saturday, The Brandts asked me to come help up at church at the old parsonage. The church is turning that into a daycare center for next year and it needed some work on the inside, but mostly out. I need to rest my shoulder until at minimum next Tuesday, so I was able to do little stuff like prepare food and pick up stuff.
Then at 11:00, drumroll please….We went to see “Revenge of the Sith” - Star Wars 3.
What a movie! I loved it. Where the first ones were cool visually, but the dialogue was really irritating, this movie had everything, believeable characters, the amazing action that got bumped up a notch, and real life problems that created the unusually circumstances. Lucas made this his masterpiece and it set up “New Hope” perfectly.
Afterwards we ran some errands, and took a little break and then we went over to Schultz’s for Emily’s graduation party. Good food.
I dropped Sarah off at the women’s retreat at church which started at 4:30 and I went out to Chris’s. He was having a grill out for Michelle’s birthday, which is coming up on the 25th. We played Scene It, Uker, and Uno Attack with Casey, Glenn, Rudy, and Michelle and drank a good amount of beer. Ooops, that was just me, but it was fun either way.
Sunday we did some shopping for our trip coming up this week to Sacremento and then watched a movie together because Sarah hasn’t been sleeping well and needed a nap. Later in the evening the “Young Adult Ministry” had it’s kickoff event at the church. It was interesting, I had a pretty good time, but there are many diverse ideas of what the groups should be about. I almost wonder if they are trying to include too many types of people, I have always said, you can’t please everyone and someone will always be left out, no matter what you do.
Tonight I think we are going to go see “Hitch” with Will Smith at the cheap theaters. We have been looking forward to that.
This weekend I added a cool little effect to the front page links. If you watch really closely, it is a fadein type effect. It was a really cool script that I applied to my homepage here.
