Another busy weekend that is just flying by without even knowing how.

Friday night was fairly uneventful. When I got home from work we used Bob Evans gift cards and went out to dinner. She got a Pot Pie that looked like a big bowl of Apple Pie the way the pastry outside was done, I got French Toast with the cream cheese in between. My meal was hardly great, but I wanted to try it at least, and not order the same thing every time.

Then when we got home from that, I got a package I was waiting on delivered. It got dropped off at like 7 and was waiting for us from UPS. I was pretty blown away that they were still delivering at that time. Unfortunately, one time that I had ordered was in severe disarray and another item didn’t seem to work properly. So after I figured that all out, Sarah and I had some time together in front of the tube and fell asleep together on the couch.

Saturday I did some work in the morning, getting the items I got last night to send back, did some backups on my computer, and picked out a white elephant gift. Sarah wrapped our two gifts and after we made a stop at the Post Office, we headed down to Greenwood for a Young Life get together through church at the Smokey Bones south of town. That was a lot of fun, a good turnout, good food (Steak = me | Smoked Turkey = her), and then the gift exchange which ended up being really cool. Sarah doesn’t like White Elephants, as I find most women don’t, but it got a ton of laughs some of the crap people wrapped up and called a gift.

On the way back, I stopped at Best Buy and got some DVD 16x with a gift card. I wanted to see how much faster if at all they burned then the 8x’s I have had. Only recently have 16x become more prevalent, even though the 16x burners have been around for at least a year at affordable prices. Next at the DL, dual layer discs and this week TDK announced that they are manufacturing Blu Ray Discs which hold around 25 GB of data.

When we got back Sarah immediately left with a friend, Laura, to go south to Edinburgh to try to finish up some shopping. I was surprised that she did not get back till nearly 11:15. I did a ton of work in that time freelance, talking with a client about the progress on the phone and working separately until about 10:30 and then I was burnt out. Sarah showed me some of the stuff when she got home, and then went to bed. I fell asleep watching some decent SNL, but hardly great. A good impression of Dick Cheney and some funny jokes about our President, but you expect that.

Today ended up going by really quickly, really productive, but involved a ton of work. Chris and I worked on a project basically from after church until about 8 pm. We watched some of the Colts game, their perfect season ended with a loss to the Chargers (Now 13-1) 26-17, but now that all that pressure is off, they can focus on the playoffs and home field advantage. Top three teams of all time is a pretty nice little honor.

Sarah is slightly sick again, and I am feeling a little coughy tonight. We love this, but we are so busy and run down, especially with how stressful Christmas time is, work, getting all the ducks in row, that we need our break for at the very least our health.
