Saturday morning, yeah. We made pancakes with muffin mix, that was awesome, and we also made bacon on the stone pan, which was even more awesome. After Wes and Kate left Sarah and I laid back down. I got up around 12:30, she didn’t wake up until about 1:45. I got up and did some work and miscellaneous research. I did get some feedback on some of the freelance work so I then worked on that as Sarah started to get around. We were supposed to be downtown for Lu-Fest at 2:30. I don’t think Sarah started getting ready until then.
By the time I dropped her off, parked five blocks away and walked to the building it was around 3:30. We were helping at Johnson’s booth, and that got us into the festivities and a meal of some sort. The Johnson’s are so great and made our job so easy. We watched the booth for a little while, making sure to pull up any “keep it” bids on any of the items that had been donated. (Silent Auction) We also got to walk around, mingle, fraternize, and check out the items that were there. Last year I bid and won an item, CD jewel cases, but this year it just seemed to go by so fast, we both agreed was because our booth was the first to close.
We headed out at about 8, it was a nice walk back to the car, it was probably 65 outside and the city was all lit up. We got back around 8:30, and Sarah did some cleanup in the kitchen, and I did some small freelance changes so I wouldn’t have to worry about them tomorrow. Then we headed out to the bowling alley just after 9 to meet Jessica and Eric. The Expo Bowl was packed with little kiddies, and then when we went to Beech Grove Bowl, it was packed with old hairy redneck kiddies, so we just threw in the towel for another time, and went back to Eric’s.
We had drinks and just sat around and talked, and I got to really learn more about Eric and Jessica’s separate college days, which are both equally delicious and juicy, she may have more stories which is funny because when you first meet her, she is fairly reserved. Thinking about my college experience makes me a little sad, that I don’t have anyone to tell any of my crazy stories for me, but they didn’t experience theirs together either, so I think I just have to learn to tell my own stories and keep people wanting more.
We got home just before 1 and it was pouring for a change, thank God for our back up sump pump, but it hasn’t given me as much peace of mind as I would hope.
After the booth closed we went and got something to eat, a turkey sandwich, very tasty. We waited in this back room in the Westin for Paul to come back and get his meal, then we were out wandering the floor again while the people who paid $75 a head were eating.
Jessica and Eric were there, and they were especially bubbly and both looking fine, we got to talk some, they had a lot of people there that he knew especially since he teaches at the high school.

Friday, another speedy day. The day didn’t end so well and I was glad to be home.
When I got home I finished up the freelance for Saturday’s due date, and then just as it was time to eat, Sarah left for school and the musical, so I ate by myself. I talked to Kate, and she and Wes headed out to our house, getting here just before 8. In that time I downloaded some new music and setup a playlist of stuff they would want to hear for the night, as well as cleaned up in the kitchen.
They ate some food when they arrived, and then we were going out to get the alcohol, and my car wouldn’t go into reverse. Thrilling. So we took their car.
Sarah finally got home about 9:10, and we had already started by the time she got there. We were playing hearts and feeling good feeling great looking good how are you? We played more games, trivial pursuit, loaded questions, but didn’t make it too far through all of them. I think everyone’s attention span was out, and I was wandering around the house, I couldn’t seem to sit still. We just had another great time, I think I crashed before everyone else, they stayed up till probably 2 eating bagel bites and then falling asleep.

Today went by really quick. When I got home I made some plans for the weekend, and I had got some more freelance stuff via email, so in order to have fun over the weekend I first had to work hard for awhile. I worked on that stuff until about 11:30 and went to bed, knowing that I would be going to the gym in the morning.
9th March 2006
Yesterday I took the day off, and it was a highly productive one at that.
I got up early and went to the gym with John and we had a strong hard workout, that doesn’t sound suggestive at all:)
When I got back I worked on freelance stuff and updates to the church website. Then I went out and ran some errands, trying to find some small torque bits and then looking at and buying a planner with business card sleeves. Very useful for a working professional, for me right now, this will be a leather dust collector.
When I got back I had some client conversations concerning some of the projects I was working on, and then I made some more changes to those sites. I then took a big manly man’s break and hung the ladder in the garage with some brackets we had bought back in January.
Eventually Sarah got home and we ate together. Then she left and I worked more on freelance, read some health materials, and then formatted and installed a new hard drive into my mac while ending the night with some Monty Python and talking to Justin online.
Rebuilding my desk and office

I rarely take photos with my old digital camera anymore, and now I remember why. These are some bad photos, but at least it gives you and idea of what my newly expanded desk and rearranged office looks like.
I added a 30 x 70 worksurface area to my desk, now I have space to put all of my different equipment there, no cords going into the shelves and half way across the room. The Mac is on it’s own desk now with it’s own wireless card. I really liked how it all turned out, especially since I just visualized the parts I needed to expand the desk.

Another quick day. Work went by pretty quick. Then after work Chris came over to see if he could get his Motorola wireless headphones to “pair” up with my Logitech wireless music system. They both have bluetooth, but he had a lot of trouble trying to get it to work. In the end I think we determined that my device doesn’t have a complex of an interface enough, and his headphones have software, software that require a key code to connect between blue tooth devices, and my Logitech doesn’t have anywhere to enter that info.
Then we headed out to the movies, Fun with Dick and Jane. I stopped at the comic store again to get one issue that I was missing.
When we got home, I talked online with Justin, my parents called and Sarah talked with Kate for awhile. I got caught up on my New Avengers issues now that I have them all, and we got to bed again at a reasonable hour because I’ll be going to the gym in the morning.
I did finally get those photos online of my office newly redone and expanded. I really need to make a commitment to getting a new camera.

Fun with Dick and Jane (2005)

Who’s in it
Jim Carrey, Tea Leoni, Alec Baldwin, Richard Jenkins, Angie Harmon
What was good
The movie was hilarious, and the first to have a situational comedy about the big dot com’s and what happened to people when they went bust. In this case, it is fictional Globaldyne, and Jim Carrey one day after being promoted to VP of Communications is thrown into a nosedive that ends up with him losing everything.
What sucked
Not too much. Jim Carrey does a nice balanced mix of being a normal person, and being a funny man. He gets more off the wall as his circumstances appear more dubious. But if you don’t like Carrey, you obviously would stay away from this. But other than Liar Liar, this is the most I have ever heard Sarah laugh at a Jim Carrey movie, so that is a sign.
Who should go see this
People who love Carrey, and Leoni is equally funny. She doesn’t hesitate when they start to steal money, and is the perfect compliment to making Carrey work, from the robbing costumes, to the outlandish stuff they both do to make money, etc etc. Everyone should see this, it is funny, short and to the point, and a movie you could watch a bunch of times.
