What a long drive.
We didn’t get on the road until after 10am, which really sucked, putting us in MI somewhere around 3pm. But things just get in the way, packing, hanging out the night before, things that should be done around the house and are hard to ignore, etc. etc.
We made one short stop, dropping off a gift to my friend John, and then up to MI, and we did get there just after 3. That left us just a little time to get ready, dressed, and all that good stuff before the wedding at 4. I ended up wearing only my own underpants and shoes, and wore dad’s suit and dress shirt since we forgot mine at home.
The wedding was nice, pretty short. It was interesting to watch what happened with the Pastors though, what rules we thought couldn’t be broken and appeared to for the wedding, and how very interesting the guest pastor was.
Afterwards we headed back to the house for a touch before going downtown to the Legion’s building. I had never been there in how ever many years I lived in our small hometown, but I don’t know what sort of occasion I would have been there for. It would have had to of been a party using the second floor, where Doug and Erika had their reception.
The wedding was fun supafun. Sat with Justin and Jennifer, ate a ton of creampuffs washed down with a little known tap drink called beer and did some socializing. For a little while Sarah and I took a really great walk down the pier out to the lighthouse and back, had a great talk which I really needed cause I was a little mixed up about some things.
We didn’t stay long after that. We said our goodbyes, and talked with Justin and Jennifer outside for a bit and then headed back to the ‘rents. Dad and I had one Smirnoff after we got back, but other than a little chatter that was about it. We were both exhausted after a long day, so we went to my parents place and crashed.
