27th October 2006
It was a good day. I left work a little early because of our little trip coming up to Australia, so I had intentions of going to the gym since it was only 1:00 pm, but that didn’t end up happening. I came home, relaxed a little bit, watched part of a movie, but made a ton of calls for tomorrow arranging plans and such.
When Sarah got home, we got ready and headed over to Rick Kerr’s house. There was going to be a little party that was also a surprise gift shower for him, his daughter just had their first child earlier in the day perfectly coinciding with the plans. It had been in the works awhile to give him some stuff to be a more prepared grandpa, so it just worked out perfectly that she was born on the day of the party. It was fun, we don’t get together enough with the faculty anymore it seems. When we first came down it seemed like more times a year, but maybe it wasn’t, I don’t know, I just know that every time we get together I just hope that it goes for awhile, even though I know eventually people will retire and the makeup will change. I just hope it stays the same.
Everyone was curious about my Australia trip. I was more than content to not speculate though and just hear about what was going on with other people, instead I really heard more about little kid gossip than anything else.
After the party we headed quick over to the Styf’s to check out the end of Rachel’s candle party. It was only briefly, because Kenny and Laurie were coming over to enjoy some wine, and Kenny and I were going to play video games.
All of that fun commenced a little later than I expected, but it was still fun. We played the game all night, watched the Tigers lose for the final time and wrap up the series, and the girls stayed upstairs for awhile and talked. Eventually we all started a movie and that is when we started to pass out around 3:00 am. We didn’t intend it to be that late, just too much stuff planned for one night.
