Today ended up being a lot busier than I think either Sarah or I planned on. For whatever reason from the little beer I had the night before, I was hung over with a serious headache early Saturday morning. We were going to meet Brian and Kim at Long’s for some donuts, and apparently they called because Sarah woke me up and told me it was time to go.
We finally stopped talking about it, and just stopped at the Gerdt furniture right next door to check out what they have. They were running a half price sale on their mattresses, so it was worth it to check, but still not a better deal than what we have waiting on the back burner with someone else who sells at wholesale. But nothing really is.
When we got home Sarah started some laundry and I made some calls to friends, and made some arrangements. I found another arcade game, I know, another one, for really cheap a touch south of us, so I enlisted Kenny and his car to help me go and take a look at it. We figured out that the dimensions of his hatchback would work perfectly for one game.
I knew from the description that it was probably something I didn’t want unless I got a phenomenal deal on it, and that is exactly what I got. It was a hideous white conversion cabinet that was a Pac-Land. White outside, solid green control panel, and some home made Marquee. It even was hick authentic with an ashtray affixed appropriately right below the control panel for that in between game smoke. The guy got it at an auction south of him a year ago, it didn’t work, and had sat in the barn for a year. He wanted $45 which is an ok price, but I gave him $24 and he took it, so whatever.
Kenny and I got back to the house, ate some lunch, ran some errands, and then headed back to his house so I could show him some stuff about their new laptop. We got through a lot of stuff in an hour and a half, and I think both Lori and Kenny learned a lot too. Not to mention, we sped it up by taking out some of the programs from boot.
Sarah picked me up from her direct sales party for knickknacks, and we headed back up Post road to visit a lady who had a ton of arcade parts. Her husband used to be an operator in his spare time, so he had a ton of stuff built up. We cataloged a lot of it, and took photos over the course of about three hours, but it got to be late, we were tired, hadn’t eaten, and the weather was terrible. We didn’t finish, but maybe another day.
When I got home I shoveled the driveway and our neighbors driveway while Sarah made dinner, then we watched our newest movie Contact until just after midnight. She didn’t make it through the movie and went to bed. I stayed up and got some things done, uploaded photos to the site, installed the printer on the laptop, and took some other photos before I called it a night just after 2 am.
