Tehkan licensed Mr. Do! and Ladybug from Universal

I finally got a break in trying to find out more information about these non original arcade cabinets with the weird artwork. I had said that my Mr. Do! does not have any paperwork, stamps, or any remnants of information that might give me a clue, but it turns out that Ladybug in St. Louis had a doozie of a clue – an official Licensor stamp. More bootleg artwork cabinets – Time Pilot & Vanguard?

As collectors, we all have our fragmented historical interests when it comes to a certain manufacturer or game creator. Each time more photos pop up of these white cabinets with the painted sideart that would illicit a disparage from purists, it further imbues my wish of having been older and aware during the classic period of gaming. This time, someone forwarded me photos of a Time Pilot and I found photos of one other unknown cabinet that maybe someone has a guess on identity. (more…)


Williams Parts Folder Cover

I had referenced this item as one of many in an old operator’s box of paper, but I wanted to show it off because I thought it was a particularly nice design. The operator used the folder to store mostly flyers and some interesting notes about sales forecasting and probabilities of profits on certain machines. (more…)


Got an email from Dave Nutting a few days back

Back late last year I was really getting into tracking down old arcade game creators. It takes a good amount of time because, while there are many resources online, there is a ton of information to weed through to find the correct results. The goal was to find David Nutting, I did, had a short phone conversation with him and then I sent him a thank you letter in the mail. He eventually visited this website and dropped me a line via my form and this is what he had to say. (more…)
