Jr. Pac-man

Jr. Pac-man truck progress update

The Jr. Pac-man truck is now in Pittsburgh. I was blown away, it was like they totally skipped the last leg of the course up the coast.

Rick met with Troy last night, and they were talking about how to pack up the Jr. Pac. But, come to find out, Troy is going to be going to NY and NJ and then he will come back through PA to pick up the other games. So, I think I have another 4-5 days before he is back in PA. Maybe not that long…

They did have some space issues, and are renting temporary storage units. What a costly, amazing trip for this truck. But the time is nearing, a week from today I may have my Jr. Pac-man in the basement.

Jr. Pac-man truck progress

The truck continues to move along, but at a little slower pace than the beginning.

The last I heard it is still in North Carolina with the disassemble project they were working on. But, there is some good news for those getting games. There will be no new stops added, so hopefully the route it has is final and we can better judge when it will arrive.

I heard Rick is going to be out of town for a week, so I figure that the truck won’t even be to his place for another week. That puts the truck at my place now somewhere around the 21st of September. I assume they are still coordinating with Rick, he has other games than mine that they want.

The time is benefiting me from a savings point, but it is hard to stay patient.

Jr. Pac-man truck update

Well. As I thought, it is taking longer for the truck to get here than planned. In theory I may have had the machine today, but that is fine. I get to keep my money longer and have more time to try to sell the R-Type.

The main reason it is taking longer is the generous and expanded route by DanOfEarth. He is having Troy swoop way south to Atlanta and back up the east coast. My guesses are that he should be up to PA sometime in the first few days of next week. That would put my machine here probably in a week from Saturday or Sunday…maybe:)

I am just worried now, with the expanded route, that something might happen to the machine, or they might run out of room. That would be even worse.

Jr. Pac-man delivery progress

Well, as I thought, things started late and slow, but finally some progress has been made. The truck is moving through Missouri tonight and probably stopping there somewhere. The loop is pretty grand, I would have to doubt that the truck would make it to our place by next weekend, but still, whenever it happens, it is an awesome deal.

Here is the progress the guy who is orchestrating the trip posted tonight.

Jr. Pac-man might be on it’s way to me

It may take three weeks, but it sounds like I may be able to have it delivered to my area, which would be just amazing. I will post updates as I get them here, of course. But…the countdown is on.

Mappy Cabinet in Dayton area

I had to pull teeth to get any information on this cab in Dayton area. I had seen a post right after I got back from vacation about a Mappy cabinet for $15. But for the price, the people didn’t want to do any photos.

I don’t understand people. Now hard is it to take a couple of photos? You will waste more time answering silly questions than if you take three digital photos and post them somewhere.

Well, they were going to destroy it by the 10th, and I didn’t want that to happen either. The price was great, I was ready to take a risk in driving all the way to at least see it.

But at least I asked the right question and found out it had no topper piece. I would have been pissed if I went all the way over there to get it and it was without that. I might consider taking it for free, but it isn’t worth my time otherwise.

Gotta keep hoping another Mappy cab, complete or not, comes up close to me. They sure are hard to come by.

Jr. Pac-man in Santa Maria, CA

At least this one was so far away that I didn’t worry too much about it.

But a nice looking machine. I bet Michael in Sunnyvale, CA is kicking himself that he had that one shipped from Traverse City when this one is obviously closer. The one in Traverse was nicer looking, but this one in Santa Maria is really good too, and I hate it that it is in my price range but all the way across the country.

I emailed the guy to see if I could get a serial, and hoping for a response that I could later contact to find out the buyer. But I haven’t gotten a return email.

Maybe I’ll email Michael and see if he already shipped his or not. Maybe we can work something out:)
