Today I averaged about 21 on the way into work. On the way home, about 8. Tonight was the first time I had rode in rain, and don’t get me wrong, I actually like it. It’s the water dripping in your eyes that makes it a little unfun.
Sin City is finally at the cheap theaters, and we are going tonight. I am nervous about the violence and how entertaining vs. a direct translation of the book it is. But I have heard good things, and it is the last major movie that has been released before the summer blockbusters that I wanted to see.
Plus, tonight is the baseball All Star Game played in my old state of Detroit, in the bland ballpark that is Co-America. But last time it was played there Reggie Jackson hit a bomb over the right field roof, which was quite a tall order. So I hope to watch at least the end of that.
When we got back, I somehow flipped on this “Rock Star:INXS” show. Like American Idol but not crappy, I was enthralled immediately. I don’t get into reality tv, and I throw this typical shlock into that category, but the performances were short, to the point, without corporate sponsers and babble filler. I even got goosebumps when one girl with dreadlocks, Jordis Unga, performed Nirvana’s Heart Shaped Box. The are competing to be the lead singer of INXS, who have been pretty much out of commission since Michael Hutchence overdosed in ‘97. I’ll probably write more on this later, cause now, I may be hooked.
