20th June 2005
Our weekend went by so fast.
We left early Saturday morning, and got back just in time for Family Guy Sunday night at Johnson’s house. It was a fun trip, even though our weekend vanished.
I had just enough time to run to Best Buy from our hotel (across the street) and get the new Coldplay album for $10. I don’t know what I think just yet, but I will soon.
The wedding was at 3:30, and was one of the longer weddings I have been to. Sarah suggested we go say hi to Kim Etheridge’s mom, who lives across the street from the church, so we visited for a little while. When we all got back to the hotel, Paul Johnson and I “tailgated” a touch with leftovers from his 50th party and then headed to the reception.
The reception was Exquisite. The drinks, the food, and the deserts, oy, one of those night where you throw caution to the wind. There was a great turn out, and I was there last minute and the Winninghams were so nice about it, Pastor and Patrick. I got to use one of the two SLR Minolta cameras that I am borrowing from my boss’s, so that was fun to play, but scary cause I didn’t want to waste any more film than I had to in the learning process. We were there until about 11:30 and then Andrea and Thomas took us to Kim and Josh Etheridge’s house on 14 Mile and Hayes.
Sunday we just hung around and caught up with the Etheridge’s and their cute little boy Caleb who is now 2. But there have really fallen into their roles nicely as mother and father, I just hope my little boy is that well behaved. We grilled out some excellent burgers, played with their awesome yet a touch paranoid, American Bulldog and then finished the afternoon off with a movie. Kim drove us to the Henry Ford museum to meet back up with Johnsons for the ride back.
Today Sarah did some things with Wheeler Mission, specifically planning for the summer camp that starts this week. I got into work late because of some bike issues that made me drive my car and then didn’t get home until 8. I got cleaner and grease for the rollerblades tonight and so for two hours when I got home I worked on cleaning the bearings, taking them apart and all that jazz. I am glad I only do it so often, there are a ton of parts to get dirty.
