25th February 2007
Today went by in a flash. We went to early 8:00 service because Sarah’s kids were singing. That got us out of church pretty early, and me very tired since I went to bed so late. I left with Kenny and went back to his house to get some rest and Sarah stayed, she ended up doing some work later.
At 11:00 I got Sarah and we headed down to Kroger to get some fruit, and then back to John’s house for a young adult breakfast. There was a good size turnout, 15 or so of the good ‘ol regulars. Then, from there we carpooled downtown to Easley winery for a set wine tasting with some food and fellowing. It was a fun time, and we had a lot of first time tasters so that was cool to see their reactions. Hard to believe it has only been a year really since we started doing this on a regular basis. I thought the wine there was solid, I just didn’t think it dethroned Oliver or Brown County, and I think a lot of that had to do on the presentation at the winery, and how the wine looked and such.
This is where the day got really interesting. Earlier in the day I realized that my cell must have slipped out of my pocket into the couch at Kenny’s house, and I had mentioned it to them. We told them we’d call, but we didn’t and took a chance in just heading over to their house. They weren’t there, so we waited about 25 minutes before we thought it should be time to head out. Except, we couldn’t leave. The car wouldn’t start. I thought that was really weird, it was acting like the battery was out of juice. Eventually we got the neighbor’s attention and he tried to help us jump it, but that didn’t work, so we used their phone and called Kenny.
He was really helpful as always, we got right at checking the battery out, and he has the experience and tools to know that the battery actually was bad, it had shorted out. So he made some calls and we went and got a battery at Auto Zone. He put the new one in, it started right up and we were ready to roll. We even made it home in time for Simpsons. He’s such a great guy, I am really thankful he took so much time out of his day on Sunday in different respects, to help us out.
When we got home, we returned some phone calls, watched some tv, and called it a night. It was a long day and we were pretty beat.
