This morning we had nursery duty. It went by pretty quick, that was the fastest we have ever been out of church. We talked with friends a little bit, Dave is back in town for good now to start for the year, but we still managed to leave by 11:35. Shocking!
When we got back we decided to use a gift card and go to Olive Garden for Soup and Salad.
I worked on my blog, transferring content, after we got back for about two hours. Again, somehow in there I managed to waste a lot of time, that whole overwhelming amount to do, let’s not do anything for a little bit.
Then, about 4:45 we left to get back up to church. Tonight was a voters meeting. Pastor Phil was asking to have his resignation letter removed, and we were voting. I wanted to show support and had these dreams that the church would look like “To Kill a Mockingbird”, overflowing with people into the aisle. It was pretty full, I will say that.
Phil went up there and just put everything out there for everyone to know, the why’s and the timelines for when things happened. He didn’t have to do any of it, and I didn’t expect it.
The whole voters meeting thing…..it is taking all of my good sense and restraint to not express some strong opinions about people. But I have committed here to try to stay away from that as much as possible. I will just say I wasn’t happy about how things went.
The vote went through, and Phil will be back, we voted to reinstate him. It was a great feeling to have him back, there were many times tonight, and the previous couple of weeks that I would well up thinking about him leaving. He is an amazing guy, honest, supportive, and you couldn’t find anyone else who gives more of themselves then him.
We were there quite late actually, until about 7:30. We hung out and talked with Lori and Christine.
We got back and I worked on figuring out the drive Mark Wagner gave me that has MameWah loaded on it. I figured out some things, but it was slow going. I don’t know what the next step is, I may need a large block of time in two weekends from now to sit down again and research.
Sarah watched the movie and hung out with the dog, both of us knowing well and good that tomorrow our extended vacation ended (more for me) and it was back to work.
