How picky am I? Ms. Pac-man touchup
That is the question. I supposedly have two more days of warm weather to make a decision and act. Do I buy yet more items for this job and push my costs for tools and materials close to $200? or do I leave the artwork as is and apply the clear coat?
I am taking a stay, procrastinating if you will. I’ll try a small touchup area first to see how the Valspar mixture matches the yellow first.
Ms. Pac-man black artwork – Live & in progress
Exciting, today is the day, the be all to end all. Either I screw things up completely on my Ms. Pac-man, or the final black artwork will really make my cabinet sing. So far so good, I’ve sprayed the kickplate stencil and removed it and here is what things are looking like to date. Ms. Pac-man Pink Finished
I finished spraying the passion pink on my Ms. Pac-man on Thursday, but with family in town this weekend I am only now getting a chance to post some photos. I think just now the Ms. Pac-man machine is really starting to manifest, looking like a real project with a real ending. How Bally Stenciled Ms. Pac-man Cabinets
Short but fun and informative post, here are a couple of photos showing that Bally / Midway didn’t paint the plywood boards solid blue and then add the pink and the yellow. They had a blue stencil that left areas of the cabinet blank, exposed to primer to allow application of the lighter colors later on. (more…)
Ms. Pac-man Stencil File Missing Artwork?
That is the question right now. As I started to lay down my pink stencil on my Ms. Pac-man kickplate I noticed something. It appeared as if the left hand of the left ghost on the kickplate was missing the yellow highlights on his knuckles. I thought for a second that maybe the shop that cut these stencils had missed some pieces and I had better check Joymonkey’s Ms. Pac-man stencil file. Sure enough, the yellow pieces were missing from the artwork file as well. (more…)
Ms. Pac-man Yellow Finished
I’ll keep this short as I’ll go into more detail about the yellow stencil layer for my Ms. Pac-man when I continue the tutorial.
I spent just about all day (6+ Hours) working on this yellow artwork, and I am at the end of my rope. I had to have at least one side of the artwork to show, something to show for my day, so here is a photo of what the Ms. Pac kickplate looks like with the yellow laid down. (more…)
My Ms. Pac-man Stenciling Progress – 2nd Coat of Glidden Blue
Last night I talked a little bit about my priming experiences with my Ms. Pac-man cabinet. I had mentioned I had put down a pretty ugly first coat of Glidden blue.
I am proud enough of this second coat of blue on my Ms. Pac-man to show it off here today. Just got finished and really happy with a couple of things, mostly how well the second coat covered up my first thick streaky coat of the Glidden Rhapsody. (more…)
