Today was kind of strange. I was brushing my teeth, and I hear this noise behind me, and Nokes had climbed up onto the garden tub. First the step, and then the higher ledge. The didn’t climb up onto the drywall ledge, but that would be kind of cute if he did and just sat there in the morning while we got ready. Instead, he just licks my legs all over when I get out of the shower.

I took him on a car ride today down the street to get milk. He did pretty good, but on he way back he sat on my lap and looked out the window. It was pretty hard to drive, but for now I figured it is ok. This one time, probably from here on out we’ll have to do things to discourage that.

Got a lot done on Mr. Do! Ice Cream Dish

Got through a good portion of the tracing tonight, while waiting for someone to call, of the ice cream cone. It would be nice to have it done by the weekend, so that would only leave the other character with the mustache head. He should be fairly easy.

The first’s for the dog have kind of tapered off. Nokes has developed a habit of peeing on the stairs, and pooping in the basement if we don’t watch him, and keep the gate closed. He has also gotten more crazy, started biting, jumping, growling and running at full sprints around the house. He is still really clumsy and even though he can jump higher, he just falls that much further and much more spectacularly.

Detailed photos of Agent X robots

Last night I got photos from Richard of the robots, as requested. Today I started, and got a good distance, finishing probably 80% of one robot. The robots all look the same, so I shoud be able to just repeat it on the front to take care of each one, and just scale them accordingly. However, the antennas and the mouth area are a little fuzzy, so I emailed Richard to see if he can get yet closer up photos of those two areas to make sure I trace it correctly.

Hopefully I will have enough done that I can post it by next weekend. Which also means, the sooner I finish up the two pieces, the sooner I can head over to Pittsburg to buy the Jr. Pac-man.

Weird looking Mr. Do! Pasta Guys finished

Mr. Do Three Pasta Guys Illustration
Got three more close up photos from Rob tonight that I didn’t have. One of the ice cream, one of the dopey mustache head guy, and one of the pasta smiley guys. I took today to get started on those, and did the pasta ravioli looking Mr. Do enemy guys, since they seemed fairly easy.

I doubt I will be working on the other two this weekend, the ice cream in particular looks like it will take some time, but hopefully by next weekend I can do one more. There aren’t too many left after these, it will be composing the side art as close as I can without a good tracing source to make it look like the original.

Got hi-res image of Cloak and Dagger marquee

Have made some contacts with some Mame guys who trace for archival purposes, all sorts of old classic arcade artwork. They also had access to the “Joymonkey” website, a site put together by a bunch of guys who bought a copy of Arcade Graphix artwork when they went under. Today via email, I got two pieces I requested, one of which was the Cloak and Dagger marquee which has the robots in it.

It is a hi-res scan, but I still think some small details of the robots are missing. I will take a closer look at it this weekend.

Memorial day weekend was an exciting one for Nokes, and a curious one for us. We went up to Michigan to introduce him to the rest of the family. He did really good at my parents house, barking maybe once. They were impressed with him that he was so well behaved and quiet. I think it was nostalgic for them to have a dog in the house again, and it made all of us happy.

Then he met Hunter. We kept him on a leash for most of the meeting period, which helped. He was jumping up and nipping at his ears, and Hunter was trying to pin him down. And as we found out a couple of times later, he tried to hump the heck out of him. I hope it was a dominance thing. But Hunter got tired of the little ball of energy. Nokes stole some attention and that wasn’t all. He was taking Hunter’s toys, trying to eat out of his dish and following him all over the place. It was really cute to see them run up together to great us, then simultaneous turn and run into the other room as a little father son pack. Soon enough there won’t be such a size difference, probably the next time we’re all together, maybe this Christmas.

Nokes did really well in the car too. He slept or sat clamly on the ride up. On the ride back he was a little more anxious, climbing back and forth a number of times into Sarah’s lap to span the ride.
