Fall Indianapolis USAmusements Auction October 2008

Overall I was generally impressed with the USAmusements arcade game auction that took place in Indianapolis last Saturday. There was about the same amount of classic arcade games, but in terms of volume I would say that there were about 20% more games than usual, and quite a few more pinballs. I got photos of just about everything, and prices for a handful of items. (more…)

How to vectorize arcade game artwork

Earlier in 2008 when I was really pushing to see what sort of traffic I could get on this arcade blog, I was starting to gather the best arcade artwork resources here under one roof.

I had contacted Tom Van Horn to see if he would let me reproduce (with credit of course) his very nice tutorial PDF on how to use a vector program to trace and then reproduce your arcade game artwork. I thought that this resource could be more easily found if made into HTML pages will a greater density of keywords and keep the PDF as a compliment to download and easily read offline, print, whatever was needed. A pretty good idea I thought. (more…)

Rotheblog Arcade Game Shirts

Just in time for the Indianapolis auction, I got a couple of my newly designed arcade game t-shirts in the mail. I also got some professional photos taken and got a couple of those in email tonight. For now, I chose one for the ‘Rotheblog About‘ page. This may change, but for all of those who have been reading and were curious to see what I look like now’s your chance. (more…)

Preparing for a USAmusements arcade game auction in Indianapolis

Well, here are couple of things that may seem like common knowledge to most and may be talked about somewhere if you are willing to hunt for the information, but what fun is that? Let’s just talk about USAmusements right here. (more…)

Rotheblog makes Gameroom Magazine

Granted, my understanding it was just a blip. But I heard that my “15 Most Valuable Classic Arcade Games” post made Gameroom Magazine that was released this month October 2008, probably the November issue? Can anyone help me out? Send me a scan of the little article mention? Or maybe a photo?

Super Auction Prices Pinball Expo 2008

On Friday night I made a quick mention of some of the final prices at the Pinball Expo 2008 Super Auction. I finalized the photos with prices and have them loaded up in a gallery. Don’t be too surprised when you don’t see very many classic games though. 😉
