Fixing stenciled overspray on arcade artwork – What is working for me

I have had some suggestions, some I take as fact based on the source and some I have just considered, all of them have been good. But tonight I feel like I have had success with a careful use of mineral spirits, a rag, and a detail paint brush to fix some of my ugly edges on the black Ms. Pac-man artwork.

How picky am I? Ms. Pac-man touchup

That is the question. I supposedly have two more days of warm weather to make a decision and act. Do I buy yet more items for this job and push my costs for tools and materials close to $200? or do I leave the artwork as is and apply the clear coat?

I am taking a stay, procrastinating if you will. I’ll try a small touchup area first to see how the Valspar mixture matches the yellow first.

New Watchmen Movie Poster

Now that The Dark Knight movie came and conquered this last summer it’s time to bank on the next big comic book movie. I personally am really geeked about The Watchmen. Directed by Zack Snyder who took the helm to bring Frank Miller’s 300 to life I feel like The Watchmen will get the treatment it deserves. Here is a new teaser poster for the movie that is coming out March 6th, 2009.

Arcade Community / Forum – Testers Request

An open letter,

I have been dissatisfied with the fragmentation of the arcade game collecting community for quite some time. I think many people have echoed these sentiments. So many sites that aren’t tied together, so much time spent bouncing between each.

For a couple of months now I have been contemplating trying to do something about it. But…what can I do? I am not a programmer, I can only do minor things in PHP.

So, there is something out there, out of the box that I want to test. Test only, and I am looking for some help.

The Glob NOS Conversion Kit Found!

A member of the arcade collecting community turned up a real gem this weekend at an old operator’s warehouse, a complete NOS (New Old Stock) conversion kit. I have ties to this game now since I have vectorized most of the Glob artwork and someday will finish designing custom kickplate artwork for the game as well. If you haven’t ever played Glob before, it is a really fun game. The artwork is ok, here’s a photo of the pieces of the NOS kit.
