Super Auction Prices Pinball Expo 2008

On Friday night I made a quick mention of some of the final prices at the Pinball Expo 2008 Super Auction. I finalized the photos with prices and have them loaded up in a gallery. Don’t be too surprised when you don’t see very many classic games though. 😉

University of Michigan’s video game library

Got to talking with a friend of mine who works within the museum system at the University of Michigan and yesterday she was telling me about a special collections that U of M is doing for old video / arcade games. Just like a book, you can go into a special room in the library, sit down, and an attendant will pop an old video game of your choosing, into the system of your choosing and you can relive a little bit of your childhood.

Nutting & Associates Arcade Vector Prototype

On the way back from Troy’s arcade party on Saturday, Chris Moore and Bill Karkula got to rehashing some of the conversation towards the end of the night and Bill got to talking about some more of his experiences calling on some of the arcade manufacturers from 1983-1986. In particular he talked about visiting Dave Nutting’s location and sitting down in the prototype cockpit of a vector arcade game. Intrigued, Bill went on to talk a little bit more about the game, and this is the little snippet I found online.

Pinball Expo 2008 Super Auctions Notes

It’s late and I am beat after a 5:45 start to the day. But I thought I would post a short note now that it is 2:15 am about some of the arcade game results from the Super Auction at Pinball Expo 2008.

Chicago Pinball Expo Convention 2008

I have the opportunity to attend the Chicago Pinball Expo this year and am really looking forward to it. Chris Moore has already taken some cell phone photos from the Pinball Expo opening day and although I know little about pinball, it looks as though this will be a great opportunity to play some one of a kind games.

My question is, what sort of information do people want to know about this Pinball convention that isn’t already readily available?

Grand Rapids man confuses Xenophobe for solid gold brick

Rockford, MI – A Rockford Michigan man today confused his classic Xenophobe arcade game for a solid gold brick.

“I tried to take my old Atari Xenophobe down to my safety deposit box but they wouldn’t let me put it in. I told them, what do I need a box for if I can’t store my gold in it? They told me that my game wasn’t gold, that in fact it was only worth a hundred bucks or so and that I should turn it into media unit to store my Chicago “Love Songs” CD’s.”
