Got new Diodes for the G07

I got another sample from Allied Electronics, 5 of them to be exact. I had gone to Meunier downtown to pick up pretty much the same part a couple of weeks back, but was confused. The replacement part I got was rated the same, but it was physically twice the size of the diode I pulled off of the chassis. So, I waited.

I called Allied, and they gave me the information about the rating so I just had them send me a few. I assume they will work just fine. I have to figure out the polarity on the board and I should be good to go. The original part number was(_), and the equivalent replacement today is a 1N5404.

WordPress 2.3 Release Candidate 1 (RC1)

WordPress 2.3 is supposed to be released as a final version today. RC1 was released late last Monday for people to do final testing before the published release.

Fortunately my site isn’t really live yet, so testing out the RC1 wouldn’t be a big deal. But I decided to just install a fresh version on a different server and do the testing I needed.

I wanted to make sure some of my plugins worked, specifically Kimili Flash Plugin and WP-Sticky. Both of them worked like a charm. I did some testing to see if they had upgraded any of the HTML editing in TinyMCE, the WYSIWYG editor, but it doesn’t appear so. I think the editor still strips empty tags and “div” tags.

But at the very least, I am really getting into these releases. This is a fairly big one. It adds tag support, which is huge for SEO purposes. It also adds auto checker for plugin updates and release updates for the software.

I will probably end up upgrading later this week.

Colts game at Grubbs house

Was productive in the morning, knew today would be crammed. I reworked a quote before we headed off to church.

We stayed after and talked with friends, kind of killing a little bit of time. Then we headed straight over to Grubbs house for the Colts game. Sarah made Sangria, and Lori picked up some sandwhichs and made some dip. Relaxing way to spend a Sunday, other than the fact that the Colts made it a close game against the Texans, almost letting them come back similar to Tennessee last week. We took a break during halftime to watch Sarah Silverman on the MTV movie awards just a week ago, she is pretty outrageous and ballsy.

Doug called me after the game to let me know Dave needed some graphics done, and he wanted me to check my email when I had a chance and write up a plan of attack, so I had to get that done when I got back home.

When we got back, I finished coding a webpage for a client, and then sent out that email.

We had the “Sunday Conversation” with my parents, and then it was time for season premieres for Simpsons and Family Guy. Finished off the night working on some more freelance stuff. It has been a really busy time for that right now, I can’t get ahead.

I loath Indiana clay, and digging in it.

In the early morning we went to the gym, met Dave there around 9:30. From there we made a stop at Menards to get me some electrical terminals, and then we went to Petsmart. I was so looking forward to seeing the other puppies, but there were none there. Foiled again. We got some dog food for Nokes, and a new knotted rope with a handle because he trashed his puppy rope, and headed home.

First it was breakfast, eggs and hashbrowns, and then we sat down for a half an hour and I watch This Week In Baseball. I haven’t seen that in forever, man how the format has changed.

It was about 12:30 and we headed outside. Today was the day. I had marked on the calendar later in the summer to get outside, hopefully when it was a little cooler, and start digging out our 6+ tree stumps that are growing next to the fence posts in our yard. What a pain, and I knew it would be, but right after a workout in the hot weather, it zapped me. We were outside until 3 working on those, some we had to trim below the surface and pray they didn’t come back, some we had to trash the fence to even get them out they had grow into the chain so bad.

Inside, I took a nap while watching the Yankees Red Sox game, peeking in from time to time just to know what was going on.

Around 7ish, I got up and got back to work, did some more Rotheblog post transfers, and then did some freelance updates.

I don’t remember what I did for the rest of the night. At some point I took the new terminals and attached them to the Pengo, and I also figured out that the voltages were way too high, so who knows if I fried my board or not.

We watched a little bit of SNL and went to bed.

TMNT Pinball

I know I eventually want a pinball in my personal arcade. I just don’t know what.

I have played Austin Powers, and I liked the gameplay of that. I didn’t like the backglass artwork illustration though.

I have thought that a Batman or Batman Forever pin might be a good idea, and I have seen that there is a Mario Bros out there too. I have seen Stargate at an auction here in Indy, but it wasn’t playable. I saw today that there is a TMNT pinball. Looks like fun, but the artwork also looks a little weird to me personally.

There is also always a Baby Pac, which I still haven’t tried, only seen one in person, non-working. It is a little harder to see and try these games out, they seem harder to come by. I don’t know why that is, if I am not running in those circles yet or what it might be, but maybe this October at the auction I will see a cool pinball or two I might be interested.

Relaxing Friday Night

After work, since it wasn’t a workout night, we came home and took Nokes on a walk. It has been miserable this week, and even doing a short walk will make you hot and uncomfortable.

We didn’t do a whole lot the rest of the night. We had some dinner, I did some small updates on a dance website and we put in “Primal Fear”, wow does Edward Norton look young.

At about 10 pm, I went back to the office to let a friend of Doug and Dave’s into the back to park a car for the weekend. When I got home, Justin and I talked for a little bit and then Sarah and I continued to watch the movie before going to bed.
