A gorgeous Magical Spot surfaces in Missouri

It’s always been unusual for Universal’s earlier titles to surface, complete and in reasonable condition. In the past month there have been a slew of Universal games that have changed hands and been shared within one of the collecting groups on Facebook. Today – it’s a quick photo post showing off a Magical Spot that changed hands that is still in marvelous condition.

Magical Spot tucked away for 20 years

This game has a simple story – An operator in Missouri had this cabinet sitting in the back of his shop for the last 15-20 years. Jeff W., a collector in Missouri, had noticed the game on one of his visits and after a period of time worked out a deal to purchase the game.

The unusual part of this story is that this Magical Spot made it thirty years without being stripped and converted to another game between sitting in a warehouse off route and then in the hands of this operator. It was the beauty of the cabinet that ensured it is still complete today and in excellent shape.

Check out these photos of the game showing off the condition. The purple, orange and black is such a stunning color palette – anyone can appreciate the skill of the original artist who designed the cabinet.

If you recently picked up a game by Universal and want to share your story, send me a message. I always love to show off the artwork of these cabinets and capture their history on this site.

Selling a game by Universal

There is a small group of folks who like to collect these Universal games, including myself. If you have one of these arcade games that you’d like to sell, please contact me – I may be interested to purchase or I can put you in touch with someone who is looking for a particular game from the Universal catalog.

Any game is of interest, but here is a shortlist of the games I’m actively looking for right now anywhere in North America – Zero Hour, Space Panic, and Devil Zone.
