A photo of a Poseidon (Sea Fighter) Marquee

A quick post today to share artwork for this Taito game that was licensed to Montgomery Vending / Magic Electronics.

Poseidon Sea Fighter Marquee

Over time I’ve accumulated a small collection of oddball artwork – marquees, sideart, bezels, ovelays, etc. I wanted to share because this one in particular because I wasn’t able to find much about the game online outside of the basics like a flyer and YouTube videos, and because it has ties to one of my favorite under the radar companies – Magic Electronics.

Poseidon Sea Fighter was licensed by Montgomery Vending from Taito. Montgomery was the company established by Kevin McIntyre that handled distribution of games produced by Magic Electronics.[1] Given that this game was released during the downtown of the arcade era I suspect there aren’t many full conversions available let alone individual pieces of artwork.

I purchased this item on Facebook from Derek H., who resides just east of the greater Pittsburgh area. The only reason I share that tidbit of info. is to support a general pattern that games produced by Glak / Magic seem to have made notable inroads throughout the state of Pennsylvania from their origin in Rhode Island.

Poseidon Sea Fighter Marque - Arcade Game by Magic Electronics

The first time I saw this item it immediately reflected the style of artwork produced by Magic. This particular marquee has been cut down on the left and bottom sides, making me wonder if the common Magic eye was in the portion of the artwork that was excised. For more on that logo, check on this post on the Glak logo.

I don’t know anything more about this game or its artwork – but would like to.

Seen other artwork for Poseidon?

If you’ve got photos of the bezel, a control panel overlay or any possible cabinet artwork – I would love to see it. Please send me a message through my contact page.
