Midway Mappy Kickplate Artwork

Mappy Kickplate Artwork - Mappy Character After I finished up with the final details of the Atari Football reproduction sideart, that freed me up to tackle a much smaller project, Goro and Mappy artwork for the Mappy kickplate (Here are some small images of both of them). Eventually, This Old Game will do reproductions of these characters and they are simple enough that over the course of last night and tonight I was able to vectorize both. (more…)

Atari Football XO Separations Finished

Since I just wrote less than 24 hours ago on finishing the Atari Football XO sideart vectors, I won’t get into too much detail here. I finished the color separations, bleeds and all – here is the breakdown of those colors shown with the black artwork overlaid on top. (more…)

Cinematronics Ripoff Sideart by Archer

Soon after the eBay auctions for the NOS arcade artwork from the PA warehouse ended there was a Klov thread asking which of the NOS arcade artwork pieces collectors would like to see reproduced. At least 6 said that they would be interested in buying a set of reproduction Ripoff sideart. This is interesting because back in 2002 Archer Maclean made inkjet reproductions of the Ripoff sideart, probably 20-30 pieces, and you would think that would have sucked up all demand. but it sounds like only a handful, some of which may have been used on his own machine and another set which may be in the hands of another collector, 2-3 sets and that is it.

However, the most interesting part of this is that when you do a general Google search you can’t find any mention of Archer’s Ripoff artwork. That got me investigating the ‘why not’, the science of indexing pdf’s / Ionpool’s website and I was left asking, why would Tom McClintock want to make it more difficult for a new collector to find the great resources at his website? Scramble Control Panel Artwork Finished

As I mentioned in my first post about the Scramble control panel artwork progress, this was a project that I started in May but got shelved because it was discovered that QuarterArcade.com still has a handful of these in stock from when Anthony bought out the remainder of Jason Fowler’s arcade artwork inventory.

Jason originally made reproductions of the Scramble control panel, screening the artwork directly onto the metal. However, finding mentions of Jason’s Scramble artwork from 2002-2003 are hard to come by, so I thought I would post my final progress on the artwork before we moved on. (more…)
